Common Questions
Is Motorise free?
Yes. Tracking your finance agreement, mileage and payments is free. The only paid feature is an optional vehicle valuation, which costs £0.99 per valuation and uses live UK vehicle data.
Which types of car finance does it support?
PCP (Personal Contract Purchase), HP (Hire Purchase) and Lease / PCH (Personal Contract Hire). What's tracked is tailored to each: voluntary termination applies to PCP and HP, mileage penalties to PCP and lease, and valuations to PCP and HP, since you never own a leased car.
What is voluntary termination?
A statutory right under section 99 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Once you've paid 50% of the total amount payable on a regulated PCP or HP agreement, you can end it and hand the car back with nothing further to pay in instalments. Motorise works out your VT date and minimum payable automatically — or use our VT calculator.
How does the mileage tracking work?
You log your odometer reading whenever it's convenient. Motorise builds a picture of your actual pace, projects your final mileage, and shows the penalty that would trigger — so you can act while it's still avoidable rather than finding out at handback.
Do I need to enter my bank details?
No. Motorise isn't connected to your bank and has no access to your accounts. You enter the details from your finance agreement — cash price, deposit, rate, term and monthly payment — and it calculates everything from those.
Is it available on iPhone and Android?
Yes, on both, plus a web app you can use in any browser. Your data syncs across all of them through your account.
Is Motorise UK only?
Currently yes. The calculations follow UK finance conventions, voluntary termination is a UK statutory right, and valuations use UK vehicle data.
